Abstract

प्रस्तुत शोध पत्र में गाजियाबाद स्थित केंद्रीय सशस्त्र पुलिस बलों की केंद्रीय औद्योगिक सुरक्षा बल इकाई की पांचवी आरक्षित वाहिनी में कार्यरत कार्मिकों के व्यावसायिक तनाव पर प्राणायाम अभ्यास के प्रभाव का अध्ययन प्रस्तुत किया गया है। इस हेतु 200 कार्मिकों का चयन कर पूर्व-परीक्षण–पश्चात-परीक्षण एकल समूह अभिकल्प अपनाया गया। प्रतिभागियों को आठ सप्ताह तक सप्ताह में छह दिन, प्रतिदिन 30 मिनट का संरचित प्राणायाम अभ्यास कराया गया। व्यावसायिक तनाव के मापन हेतु श्रीवास्तव एवं सिंह द्वारा निर्मित व्यावसायिक तनाव मापनी का प्रयोग किया गया। परिणामों में प्राणायाम अभ्यास के आठ सप्ताह के पश्चात कार्मिकों के औसत व्यावसायिक तनाव स्कोर में सार्थक कमी देखी गई तथा तनाव के चयनित छह आयामों में भी कमी दर्ज की गई। अध्ययन के निष्कर्ष संकेत देते हैं कि संरचित प्राणायाम अभ्यास के पश्चात केंद्रीय सशस्त्र पुलिस बलों के कार्मिकों में व्यावसायिक तनाव के स्तर में कमी देखी गई। इन निष्कर्षों की पुष्टि के लिए नियंत्रण-समूह सहित नियंत्रित एवं दीर्घकालिक अध्ययनों की आवश्यकता है।
